Macromatic Announces Transition to New Owners
Macromatic has announced the sale of the privately-owned company to a management group headed by new President Steve Sundlov. The transition is effective May 1, 2019, according to past owner and President John Perdue. Perdue is retiring after 22 years of leading the company and 40 years in the industry.
“I am proud of what our employees have accomplished in developing Macromatic as a world-class manufacturer of industrial control and monitoring products,” Perdue said. “I want to thank our customers, sales organization and suppliers for their support during that time, and wish the new owners of Macromatic the greatest of success. I am pleased that this ownership transition allows Macromatic to continue its growth as a Wisconsin-based employer.”
The company can trace its roots to 1975 with operations originally in Chicago, Il. In 1997, the Macromatic Division of Milwaukee Electronics was purchased by Perdue, then the Division Manager. The company, now located in Menomonee Falls, WI, has expanded its products to include a wide range of industrial control and monitoring products sold for OEM and MRO applications.
New company President Sundlov has over 25 years’ experience in the Industrial Automation market. He has held various positions in sales, marketing and product management. His real passion, however, is innovation and bringing exciting products to market. Prior to the acquisition, Sundlov held the positions of Sales and Marketing Manager and General Manager at Macromatic. Sundlov earned his BSEE from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
“I’m extremely excited to be involved in the next phase of Macromatic,” Sundlov said. “While carrying on with our 44-year legacy of high-quality products and outstanding customer service, we will move aggressively to release highly innovative solutions that help our customers become more productive and efficient.”
The company also announced the promotion of Tim Burns to VP of Sales & Marketing. Burns joined Macromatic with over 25 years in various market segments, most recently as VP of Distribution Equipment OEM’s for ABB Ltd. Burns earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix and his BSEE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho.
