Products with 8 Pin Headers Instead of 11 Pin
Issue:
I want to use an Off Delay time delay relay with an 8 pin octal socket, but your catalog only lists an 11 pin version. What can I do?
Solution/Resolution:
Most Off Delay, Single Shot and other time delay relay functions that use a control switch to initiate action come in DPDT output 11 pin terminal configurations as standard. However, Macromatic actually has several solutions to this issue.
TR-5 Series
First, Macromatic offers 8 pin versions of our 11 pin TR-5 products. These 8 pin units have only SPDT output contacts instead of DPDT (hence, the three fewer pins). Contact ratings remain the same. They are available in both control switch trigger and power trigger versions in Off Delay, Single Shot & Watchdog functions. Click here for more information on the TR-5 8 Pin SPDT products.
TD-881 Series
We also offer our TD-881 Series Digital-Set Multi-Function Time Delay Relays in an 8 pin SPDT version of the normal 11 pin DPDT product. Click here for more information on the TD-881 8 Pin SPDT products.
SS-8 Compact Series
Or if you are looking for a basic Off Delay or Single Shot time delay relay requiring a control switch (dry contact) trigger, consider our SS-8 family of Compact Time Delay Relays. They offer 5A @ 120VAC SPDT output contacts using an 8 pin octal socket in a slightly smaller package. Besides the smaller size & lower contact ratings, the main differences between the SS-8 Compact Time Delay Relays and the TR-5: (a) the control switch is connected to Pins 7 & 8 on the Compact vs. Pins 5 & 6 in the TR-5 series; (b) only Off Delay & Single Shot functions are available; (c) time delays only go up to 300 seconds vs. 2 hours; (d) there is no 240VAC input voltage version offered; and (e) there are no power trigger versions available.
